Ryan C

Ryan C is a house and techno DJ based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, New Zealand. Shaped by years wandering the wild Southern African coast, he learned rhythm from the tides and silence from the stars.

After vanishing for 14 years, he resurfaced in Northern Africa, freed by the Red Cross from an Ethiopian pirate ship in the Gulf of Aden. Sent to the Amazon for recovery, he was restored by shamans using ancient healing rituals and guided by canoe to Brazil, where he discovered a hidden tribe of underground techno dwellers who showed him the pulse of the sound. Hearing whispers of a volcanic island in the South Pacific, he journeyed to Aotearoa, where he continues to explore inner worlds through music. You can find him hosting Midnight Marauders on Radio Active (Fridays, 11 PM–1 AM) and curating events with the Open Air crew.
