As Bambas do Samba is an all-female samba group bringing a warm, wāhine-led Brazilian groove to the heart of CubaDupa in Wellington. Rooted in classic samba but delivered with a chilled, soulful feel, their sound is intimate, joyful and perfect for drifting, dancing or simply soaking up the street-festival vibe.

Fronted by the illustrious Fabiola and Kitty on vocals and guitar, As Bambas Do Samba blend rich harmonies with sun-drenched melodies. Adriana’s cavaquinho adds sparkle and swing, Jeanette’s flute weaves intricate counter melodies, while Sandra and Darla’s percussion grounds the music with a deep, irresistible rhythm. Together they create a welcoming, rhythmic space that celebrates connection, culture and mana wahine. Expect relaxed grooves, infectious smiles and a samba soundtrack made for a golden Wellington afternoon.
