Ngāmotu (New Plymouth)-based visual artist and musician/producer Ché Rogers, aka DJ Ché D, weaves stylish minimal house and techno tunes. Shaken, not stirred, he blends underground classics, originals, and live-improvised remixes with a serving of indie pop and goth condiments. Ché’s formative years, spent in Ōtautahi’s ’90s underground indie music and rave scene, affect his mixes today. Ché D guides the dance floor through a peculiar, non-conventional expedition, full of swerve and charming grooves. Enjoying the fruits of Taranaki, Ché Rogers can be found chasing sound and ocean waves, in the garden, or building art in his studio.
