Malaika Hollis
Dreamy Indie-Folk
Malaika Hollis is an indie-folk singer-songwriter from Tākaka, Golden Bay. Now based in Wellington, she is bringing her dreamy, introspective music to the CubaDupa stage!
After a few years of single releases and solo performances, she will be joined for the first time (in a while) by a band! Malaika's distinct sound and poignant lyricism is supported and developed, with the help of Reef Bridgers (The Splinters), Ja Carstens (Lexeb Sound), Zac Irving (Parallel Park) and Ned Rainey, into a fuller, warmer, reflective soundscape, influencing an additional tendency to write songs about birds.
