Wellington Airport Ngā Taniwha Stage
151 Cuba St
The Wellington Airport Ngā Taniwha Stage will host CubaDupa highlights, hear the psychedelic groves of Troy Kingi, to the indie-rockers Hans Pucket who will perform with an extended horn section. Dance along to the Batucada grooves or see the human acrobats of 3 Speed Crunch Box and enjoy a can of the CubaDupa Brew at the Fortune Favours Festival Bar. The epic taniwha stage design has been created by wāhine toa artists Miriama Grace-Smith, Gina Kiel and Xoe Hall and tells the story of the Wellington harbour taniwha, Ngake and Whātaitai, as well as people woven throughout the taniwha representing the first iwi Ngai Tara that Te-Whanganui-a-Tara is named after, their descendants and people who live in the area today. Thanks to Wellington Airport for their generous support of this stage and to Wilson Parking for the use of the space.
