The group was founded to bring together the powerful percussion and soulful songs of this incredible tradition. From these roots, Maracatui has embarked on an exciting musical evolution. While our heart remains firmly in the Maracatu tradition, we have expanded our sonic palette to create original dance-driven compositions, infused with samba, funk, jazz, and soul, to craft a sound of our own.
