Celebrate Summer on Cuba Street with the Cuba Street Summer Series!
Get ready, Wellington! The iconic Cuba Street (between Ghuznee and Vivian St) is coming alive over three weekends this summer with the Cuba Street Summer Series. With the support of Wellington City Council, this exciting sequence of events celebrates the vibrancy, creativity, and community spirit of our city’s most loved street. Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable summer of open streets, artistic expression, and shared joy.
Three Events, One Incredible Vibe:
- SUNDAY 23 February: Fringe on the Street
11am – 8pm: Kick off the series with a Fringe-themed extravaganza! Experience the edgy, the eclectic, and the extraordinary as Cuba Street transforms into a Fringe takeover of unconventional performances and quirky creativity. - SATURDAY 1 March: PARK(ing) Day
9am – 5pm: A global phenomenon meets Cuba Street! PARK(ing) Day reimagines urban spaces by turning car parks into temporary parks, art installations, and performance spaces. Come see how creativity can reshape our city, one parking space at a time. (Find out more about PARK(ing) Day online to get inspired!) - SUNDAY 23 March: CubaDupa Pre-Party
10am – 8pm: What better way to gear up for Wellington’s free street festival than with a taste of what’s to come? Expect music, art, and a high-energy celebration that’s pure CubaDupa magic in Glover Park.

We’re calling all Fringe 2025 artists, performers, and creative visionaries to join us! The Cuba Street Summer Series is a platform for you to share your talent with the community and contribute to the dynamic culture of our city.
Whether you’re a musician, dancer, visual artist, spoken word poet, or something entirely unexpected, we want to hear from you! This is your chance to shine and connect with an audience that thrives on creativity.
