The time has come — applications for CubaDupa 2027 (20 & 21 March 2027) are now open!
As always, we’re looking for bold, joyful, and innovative work across music, theatre, visual arts, dance, movement, and installation. If it’s original and electrifies the streets, we want to hear about it.
This year we’re accepting three types of applications:
🎭 Performance Application — for performers and acts
🌟 Special Project Proposal — for bigger ideas that need the right platform
🎨 Visual Arts, Decor & Installation Proposal — for installations, decor, and video works
All three can be considered as a new commission — just tick the checkbox in the form. New commission applications will need a project overview, budget, and supporting material.
Our focus for 2027:
- Wellington-based artists in their first decade of practice developing new work
- Visual art proposals for installations, decor, or video works
- Theatre works ready to be developed for the street
- Artists performing in te reo Māori
A couple of things to note: strong support material is essential and the form must be submitted in one go, so gather your links before you start. We rarely reprogramme musical acts two years in a row unless you’re bringing something new.
